Welcome to my DofE test website

This page has been created by the 12 weeks of information I have learnt for my new skill as a part of Duke of Edinburgh.

The website mainly includes information about my GCSE options and my sport interests out of school. Enjoy!

GCSE sport options

My 3 sports are netball, athletics however specifically shotput and rugby

This is my dog Cooper he is 3 years old and full of energy and brings gifts to his guests when they enter the house to greet them.

I created this image using AI!

Netball

For netball i do netball coaching as well as my own training

Shotput

This is purely for school in the summer

Rugby

For Winter, encouraged by my PE teacher despite not liking mud!

Netball

A sport I started in primary school which has stuck since.

There was a time where I stopped at the begining of secondary school due to stress and lack of self-confidence, but i am back!

I play for Challengers who are based in Tewksbury and I train every Thursday from 7:30 – 9:00pm at Hartpury University. However I now also coach Under 11’s before from 6:00 – 7:30pm, Thanks to DofE.

My GCSE choices other than PE are:

Embedding a video on the web page from YouTube. (A random Churchdown School video I found)

Maths

Maths is compulsory.

English

English is compulsory.

Science

I’m taking double science

History

I find History is way better than Geography. If you disagree, feel free to attempt to prove how the study of rocks are more entertaining than learning about the past we didn’t get the chance to experience.

R.E.

Since year 8, I have found R.E. intriguing. However, I always imagined I would be doing psychology at GCSE until my school removed it as an option. But R.E. will happily take its place for now.

Fine Art

I chose to take fine art as in class, I often find myself feeling really calm. Therefore I chose to take the subject to relax me in all the stress.

Swimming & Gymming

I started going to the gym June of last year and safe to say it is now a weekly ritual. I get home from school, do some homework, then go to the gym. I do a range of different things from lifting weights to taking pilates classes.

I have been swimming since I was 3 months old and has pretty much been a major part of my life since then. At the age of 12, I decided to stop as my love for the sport simply drifted. Safe to say that has been and always will be my biggest regret.

In the water I felt a sense of freedom, a release from the problems that contain me daily. I could focus all my energy and attention to the sport I craved instead of being overpowered by daily thoughts. I would find myself counting the number of strokes I pull in 25 metres, counting the amount of underwater seconds I took until I break the surface, and counting the counts of pulls until i could clutch my next grouping of air.

I miss it. I crave it. I require it. The feeling you receive from gliding through the ripples and the translucent water holding you at float isn’t a want but simply a need. But most of all, I miss the sense of release from the outside world’s pressure. Knowing that as soon as I took a step into that water I didn’t require the constant self-construction i force upon myself every minute until I walked back from where i came. As this sport gave me all the fulfilment of elation and escape from the world I beckoned for. That is what i miss the most.
